Wayne shines under lights of night practice

by Jason Mullins | Fri, Aug 1st 9:59am EDT

Wayne was impressive in the early part of last night's practice, hauling in 7 of Andrew Luck's first 10 completions. He was the main receiving threat with T.Y. Hilton sitting out with a jammed finger. (Colts.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Wayne was able to adjust to a couple of passes that were off-target which is a good sign for a player coming off of a season ending ACL injury. Wayne may not play much in pre-season games but it is promising to see the progress he has made to this point. He continues to be Luck's security blanket as the first option when they need to move the chains. I wouldn't expect the emergence of the other options within the receiving corps to impact Wayne's touches too much. Keep in mind, prior to injury last season Wayne was on track for over 1100 receiving yards. The return of Dwayne Allen and the signing of Hakeem Nicks may reduce that figure slightly, although the biggest impact will likely be red-zone targets.
