Roethlisberger orchestrates flawless 2 minute drill

by Dave Carroll | Mon, Aug 4th 9:50pm EDT

The Steelers finished Monday's practice with a two-minute drill. Working with Ben Roethlisberger were Antonio Brown, Heath Miller, Dri Archer, Markus Wheaton and Justin Brown. Will Johnson was also in there early on. They went 63 yards in 1:50 to score on a 4-yard TD pass from Roethlisberger to Antonio Brown. (Observer-Reporter)

Fantasy Impact:

It is no secret the Steelers are working heavily on a no huddle offense this preseason. It worked well for them at the end of the 2013 season when they went 6-2 down the stretch. What is telling is the make up of the current edition of the no huddle/2 minute drill offense. No Bell or Blount in the backfield, but the speedster Archer is there. It is no surprise that Brown and Wheaton, the team's WR1 and WR2 respectively, are lined up on the outside. Justin Brown, the WR4 on the recently released initial depth chart, is lined up in the slot. Speed will be the name of the game for the Steelers in the no huddle offense. Archer runs a 4.26, Wheaton is in the 4.3 range and Brown is in the 4.4 range. Add to that the limited time between plays and I see a lot of defenses having troubles keeping up with the Steelers this season when they do go no huddle.
