Pittsburgh Steelers want more running, less passing

by Eric McQuillen | Sun, Aug 10th 5:27pm EDT

The Steelers want to pass less and run the ball more. With the most balanced backfield the Steelers have had in quite some time, this news isn't by any means shocking. Roethlisberger exerted more pass attempts last year than any year in his career and it wasn't close (548 to previous high 477). (Observer-Reporter)

Fantasy Impact:

This won't be much of a threat to his numbers. If anything, this is a blessing in disguise. With Le'Veon Bell and Dri Archer, Roethlisberger will have a screen game out of the backfield like he has never had in his career. The supposed "run first" mentality will only open up the play-action opportunities which he has absolutely dominated in his tenure with the Steelers. Roethlisberger is currently listed as the 16th best QB in Fantasypros ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings) with nice upside in a super-deep QB class in fantasy this year.
