Cardinals targeting "20 touches" per game for Ellington

by Tony Perugini | Wed, Aug 13th 2:42pm EDT

According to James Brady of Yahoo.com, the Arizona Cardinals are looking towards getting Andre Ellington the ball "20 or so times a game". The Cardinals are hoping to keep Ellington outside the tackles due to durability concerns. (Yahoo!)

Fantasy Impact:

It seems the Cardinals want to get Ellington in space a lot this season and try to keep him fresh in the process. Ellington's small frame (199 lbs.) has some worried that the high volume he may receive this season will cause him to get hurt. Ellington is still the lead back in a pass first offense and the fact that he is an incredible pass-catching RB bodes well for fantasy purposes. Ellington should be targeted as a RB2 in standard leagues and a low-end RB1 in PPR.
