Steelers like Bell and Blount

by Dave Carroll | Fri, Aug 15th 5:03pm EDT

Rather than having a single proprietorship at running back, the Steelers plan to have a partnership...“Nobody is going to sign me to sit me,” said Blount, one of the NFL's most productive runners at the end of last season. Standing nearby, Bell seconded that opinion. “Straight up, for real,” he said. “Straight up.” (Pitt Trib Review)

Fantasy Impact:

The dreaded RBBC monster appears to be alive and well in Pittsburgh. Bell may get the slight majority of carries, but Blount is sure to get his fair share as well as the goal line carries. There is also Dri Archer to consider as he has wowed the Steelers with the training camp he had. With an Expert's Consensus Ranking of RB9 (and 16th overall), Bell may be drafted a bit too high based on this news and knowing Archer will be getting the ball in certain packages. Bell is projected to get 1139 yds this year along with nearly 50 receptions. Bell's current overall ADP is 18, which would put it in the middle of the second round in 12 team leagues. Some other players with similar projections are A. Morris (1292 yds and ADP 22) and D. Martin (1171 yds and ADP 24). If you are in a PPR league, 18 might be a good spot for Bell. In standard leagues, there may be better options at 18 with less risk of RBBC.
