Foster practicing against the Broncos

by Christopher Morgan | Wed, Aug 20th 4:52am EDT

Foster practiced with the first team offense on Tuesday in the first joint session between the Texans and Broncos. Tuesday’s practice was non-contact. He was apparently limited but “practiced more than [he] had” before. Texans writer Brian T. Smith commented that when Foster ran with the first team he “displayed his normal acceleration”. O’Brien fully expects Foster to start the first regular season game against Washington. (Houston Chronicle)

Fantasy Impact:

Foster’s continued participation in practice is a very positive sign, especially if he participates in Wednesday’s full-contact practice. Though O’Brien did not speculate on whether or not Foster would participate in Saturday’s game, it seems likely that we will not see him in a game this preseason. But, the team seems to be content to see what Jonathan Grimes and Alfred Blue can do while letting Foster get the normal veteran treatment. Despite Foster’s medical clearance and positive practice reports, his ADP is still trending into the middle of the third round in both standard and PPR formats, which is a significant value considering his upside. He is currently the 11th ranked running back on FantasyPros.
