Walsh hopes to leave long-range struggles behind

After beginning his career by connecting on 12 straight field goals of 50 yards or more, Vikings kicker Blair Walsh has struggled from long-distance ever since. He missed his last three 50-plus-yard field goals in 2013 and has failed to connect on both attempts this preseason. Head coach Mike Zimmer remains unconcerned. "He's been great in practice, and he's been great previously," Zimmer said. "I expect him to make those kicks, and I'm sure he will." (source)
Fantasy Impact:
Despite his recent struggles from long-range, Walsh remains a viable starting kicker for your fantasy team. He is currently being drafted as the 10th kicker off the board and that sounds about right considering his situation and his talent. The former All-Pro kicker is definitely worthy of being slotted into your staring line-up in Week 1 and beyond.
