DeMarco Murray prepared to carry the ball ‘as many times as they give it to me’

by Bobby Bunch | Thu, Aug 21st 11:51pm EDT

In his first preseason action, Murray touched the ball on 9 of Dallas' first 14 offensive plays getting 8 carries for 34 yards and catching a screen pass for another 21 yards. There was also a fumble on an exchange from Romo that looked like a miscommunication because it appeared that Murray was not expecting to take the hand off. Murray pointed out he was pleased with the heavy workload and he would carry the ball "as many times as they give it to" him. (SportsDay DFW)

Fantasy Impact:

Reports have indicated that Linehan plans on leaning on the running game this season. If the 2nd preseason game is to be of any consideration, Linehan is holding true to his word. Provided he stays healthy, Murray is a lock to get 250+ touches and could see the coveted 300 touch mark. Considering the RB production Linehan brings from Detroit, (last year Bush & Bell combined for over 2200 total yards, 107 receptions, and 15 total TDs), a healthy Murray could easily produce high end RB1 numbers, especially in PPR formats. His current ADP of 11 overall (PPR formats) can provide tremendous upside to those owners drafting at the bottom of redraft snake leagues.
