Simms features against Giants ahead of Boyd

Matt Simms appears to have the upper-hand in the competition for the Jets' third quarterback spot, as he replaced Michael Vick midway through the third quarter of the Jets' loss to the Giants. Simms played out the rest of the game, as sixth-round rookie Tajh Boyd, who is competing with Simms to make the roster, did not feature. (NFL.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Judging from Friday night's game, Matt Simms appears to be in pole position to make the Jets' 53-man roster ahead of Tajh Boyd. However, Boyd will most likely have one more chance of showing his abilities in next week's game against the Eagles. Even if Simms does make the roster, it seems unlikely that he'll see any game time over Geno Smith or Michael Vick, barring injuries. Even then, Simms probably shouldn't be touched.
