Darren Sproles (hip) will miss rest of the season

Darren Sproles (hip) was placed on the injured reserve Friday.

Fantasy Impact

Sproles missed three games with a quad injury before returning to action Week 10. He suffered a full tear to his right hip flexor muscle in Wednesday's practice and will miss the rest of the season. Sproles signed a one-year deal in July, he logged 17 carries for 66 yards and hauled in six catches for 24 yards across six games this season. The Eagles signed running back Jay Ajayi to provide backfield depth.

Darren Sproles officially active Week 9

Eagles running back Darren Sproles (quad) is officially active for the team's Week 9 matchup against the Chicago Bears at home.

Fantasy Impact

Sproles had missed the last three games with a quad injury, but it is worth noting that he will be the third running back behind Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders, both of whom have been having success lately. He may be relegated to punt return duty and the occasional snap on offense but is unlikely to have a large role.

Darren Sproles expected to play in Week 9

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting Eagles RB Darren Sproles (quad) is expected to play in Week 9.

Fantasy Impact

Sproles has been out since Week 5 with a quad injury, but wasn't listed on the final injury report and is set to return for Sunday's home matchup with Chicago. With Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders both playing well, Sproles will likely assume change-of-pace and passing down duties, which could come at the expense of the rookie. Still, I don't expect Sproles to receive enough touches to be on the fantasy radar and should remain out of fantasy lineups while Howard and Sanders are healthy and productive.

Darren Sproles (quad) remains out Week 8

Eagles running back Darren Sproles will miss his third straight game with a quadriceps injury when Philadelphia takes on the Bills in Buffalo on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson described Sproles's injury as a "week-to-week" situation a few weeks ago, and he has yet to be able to practice in even a limited capacity.

Darren Sproles inactive Week 6

Eagles running back Darren Sproles is inactive for the team's Week 6 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings to a quadriceps injury.

Fantasy Impact

Sproles is considered "week-to-week" according to head coach Doug Pederson, so his Week 6 status is not surprising. The team promoted running back Boston Scott from the practice squad earlier in the week.
