Cam Newton 'on pace' play Sunday, will be game-day decision

Cam Newton said after practice today that “If I can go, I’m going to go. And with how I’m feeling right now, I’m on pace to play Sunday.†Head coach Ron Rivera would only say Newton “did everything we asked,†but he wouldn’t reveal if Newton threw any passes after the media left. Fantasy Impact:
This is either the Panthers giving Cam every possible moment to continue to heal and be as ready as he can be for Sunday, or there is a legitimate concern for his availability. As coach Ron Rivera also told Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer, "tomorrow will be a big day." Fantasy owners will need to check back tomorrow to see if Cam's pace continues.
