Alshon Jeffery

Jeffrey the missing piece in season opener

by Rob Schwarz, Jr. | Mon, Sep 8th 11:10am EDT

Alshon Jeffery and the Bears' offense looked great early against the Bills. Jeffery came on strong and tallied 4 receptions for 62 yards in the first half. He had another catch in the third quarter to give him a total of 5 receptions for 71 yards. Unfortunately, Jeffery exited the game early in the third quarter with a hamstring injury. He was listed as probable to return, but never saw the field again.

Fantasy Impact:

Jeffery was targeted early and often. He caught 5 of 6 targets for 71 yards. The Bears' offense put up over 300 yards in their passing game. Cutler spread the ball around well, and Jeffery was obviously a major target. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Jeffery went out in the third quarter with a hamstring injury. Right now everyone is saying they kept him out of the game for precautionary reasons. Only time will tell. Keep a close eye on Jeffery's status this week. If he is ruled healthy for the San Fransisco game then he is a low-end WR1 against a 49ers defense who intercepted Tony Romo three times.
