Hilton held in check in season opener

by Jason Mullins | Mon, Sep 8th 11:46am EDT

T.Y. Hilton was held largely in check by both the Colts offensive struggles and the Broncos' secondary. Despite the mediocre stat line, it was promising to see Hilton targeted second most on the team, with only veteran Reggie Wayne receiving more targets.

Fantasy Impact:

Perhaps most worrisome to Hilton owners would be his use in the red zone. While he was targeted 11 times in total, only one of those targets came in the red zone. Hilton does his best work as a deep threat and excels in the open field. The Broncos did a good job of limiting the big plays and keeping Hilton from taking the top off of the secondary. Looking forward to this week's matchup with the Eagles, Hilton should be a WR3 with WR2 upside.
