Matthew Stafford

Stafford does it all against Giants

by Dan Catterson | Rams Correspondent | Mon, Sep 8th 10:31pm EDT

Detroit Lions' quarterback Matthew Stafford did a little bit of everything against the New York Giants in the season opener, completing 22 of 32 passes for 346 yards and 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. He also ran for a score in the third quarter. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Stafford started the night going 8-for-8 while leading the Lions two touchdowns on each of their first two possessions. He continued to show great chemistry with his top target Calvin Johnson, but did manage to get both Reggie Bush and his new toy Golden Tate involved in the passing game as well. If Stafford can lower his interceptions and not force too many throws, he has the potential to finish as a top 3 fantasy QB this season.
