Ryan Mathews has strong opening game

San Diego RB Ryan Mathews had a solid performance against the Arizona Cardinals Monday night, thanks to a 3rd quarter rushing touchdown. Mathews had the bulk of the carries with 12 attempts for 40 yards.
Fantasy Impact:
It was a tough go for the Charger rushing attack averaging only 2.2 yards a carry. While Mathews' average was only slightly better, owners can breathe a little easier knowing that he is the main workhorse. Mathews had 12 carries while Danny Woodhead had 6 carries and Donald Brown carried the rock only twice.
