Cam Newton returns to practice and is on track to play

Coach Ron Rivera said Cam Newton looked good on Wednesday and would start against the Lions barring a setback, and he doesn't anticipate one at this point. He went on to say that Cam 'did some really good things and that he took all the snaps he was supposed to.' "He handled all the situations very well. We did a two-minute drill, which he handled."
