Jerome Simpson

Simpson cut by Vikings

by Scott Lotzer | Thu, Sep 18th 10:44pm EDT

Jerome Simpson has been released by the Vikings after being cited on July 7th for possession of marijuana and driving with an open bottle. News of this incident has been largely kept under wraps until today's release. He was scheduled to be coming off suspension for a previous DWI conviction after Week 3. The Vikings avoid having to pay Simpson termination pay by releasing him before his reinstatement took effect next week. (Fox Sports North)

Fantasy Impact:

Simpson has been wildly inconsistent when he's actually been on the field, so he was never worth a roster spot in any format. Further proof he's more interested in the lifestyle than he is in improving his game. This has more impact on the Vikings vertical attack than anything, as Simpson was able to stretch the field with his speed.
