Harvin provides little fantasy value against Denver

by Michael White | Mon, Sep 22nd 11:58am EDT

Harvin finished with 7 receptions on 9 targets for only 42 yards in a 26-20 overtime win against Denver.

Fantasy Impact:

After being teased in week one with a heavy workload, Harvin owners probably need to lower expectations after a second straight sub-par performance. Although he is a threat to score at any time and is one of the most explosive players in the league, his value to the Seattle offense greatly exceeds his value to fantasy owners. On numerous occasions he was used as a decoy as the Seahawks ran misdirection to the opposite side of where Harvin was moving in motion. He opens up the field for everyone else, but that doesn't help his owners. Until he starts making plays downfield, he is much more valuable in PPR formats and looks to be a borderline WR2 in standard formats so far.
