Jay Cutler

Solid night for Cutler

by Dale Redman | Tue, Sep 23rd 1:16am EDT

Jay Cutler had another respectable performance Monday night. Cutler was 23 for 38 with 225 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. He also ran for 14 yards and lost 1 fumble.

Fantasy Impact:

Cutler played most of the second quarter without his favorite target, Brandon Marshall, who re-injured his right ankle. Marshall was also clearly not himself the second half, as he finished with only 1 catch. Cutler was also under a lot of pressure, as the Jets were sending a great deal of blitzes at him all night. Cutler was sacked 4 times and hit 8 times. Under those circumstances, the old Jay Cutler would of had multiple turnovers and cost his team the game. It seems Head Coach Marc Trestman has reigned in Cutler's tendency for turnovers, as the QB only has had only 1 fumble and no interceptions in the last 2 games. Expect Cutler to remain a solid QB1 next week as the Bears renew their rivalry with Green bay.
