Bills may start rookie guard against Houston

by Keith Kraska | Thu, Sep 25th 12:49pm EDT

Bills left guard Chris Williams was injured in Week 3 and has not practiced this week. Fifth-round draft pick Cyril Richardson would start if Williams can't go. (Jay Skurski)

Fantasy Impact:

Williams has been a liability for the Bills. Last year for the Rams, he was graded by Pro Football Focus as 74th out of 81 guards in the league. So the 343-pound Richardson may be an upgrade, especially for a blocking-dependent back like C.J. Spiller. According to Pro Football Reference box scores, Spiller is averaging 3.5 yards per carry behind the left guard, and 4.1 on all other runs. Houston is allowing 5.2 yards per carry to running backs, so Spiller is a viable RB2 in Week 4.
