Fantasy Impact:

Williams, who only had eight catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns in the first three weeks, was a pleasant surprise for the Cowboys in a well earned victory. Williams is very explosive, as evident by nearly 16 yards per catch in his 20 game NFL career, but he needs to be more consistant to be a solid part of the Cowboys offense. Dez Bryant and Jason Witten are the top two options for Tony Romo in the passing game and the Cowboys are trying to move moreso to their running game so Williams needs to make the most out of his opportunities like last night's. In standard leagues, Williams was in double digit fantasy points for three of four weeks in the middle of the 2013 season (Weeks 5, 7, and 8) and this is his first double digit fantasy week of the 2014 season. The six catches for Williams last night are tied for the second most he has had in his career thus far and this was his first game with multiple touchdown catches. A telling statement for Williams as a receiver, and the Cowboys as a team, is that his longest reception over four games was a 23 yard reception last night after he had 3 catches of over 50 yards last year. His average yards per catch is 12.8 this year after posting a 16.7 average last year; most of his value came from this explosiveness so Williams' owners need to adapt to the changes for the Cowboys. As the Cowboys move to a more possession based offense, Williams needs to prove that he has sure hands to maintain his fantasy value.
