Luke Willson steps into target-poor Seattle TE position

by Brian Tesch | Tue, Sep 30th 11:39am EDT

Luke Willson is slated to step in for the injured Zach Miller for Week 5, 6, and possibly longer. However, Seattle TE's (Zach Miller, Luke Willson, Cooper Helfert) have only been targeted 8 times in the first 3 games. (fftoday.com)

Fantasy Impact:

There have been multiple TE's that have exceeded 8 targets in a single game, much less 3. To put it in context, entirely forgettable/ nearly 100% available Oakland TE Mychal Rivera has 20 targets on the year. While Willson is a plus athlete, and produced in a limited role in 2013, the pie in Seattle is just too small to support non-Harvin/Lynch fantasy options. If you're in a league of Marianas Trench level depth, Willson is intriguing, but he's going to have precious few opportunities to produce.
