Riley Cooper

Cooper owns his slow start

by Jonathan Ebanks | Fri, Oct 3rd 8:10pm EDT

Eagles' WR Riley Cooper failed to catch a perfect pass from QB Nick Foles with three minutes left to go against the 49ers. Had Cooper caught the pass, the Eagles would have had a one-point lead. Cooper later candidly admitted, "I've never been the fastest or the quickest." Cooper then said, "Obviously, I have to do something, and catching has been it. I have to make those plays." Fantasy Impact:

Cooper also dropped a perfect pass against Indy as well. It's quite a shock to see a receiver, who only dropped five passes all of last season (playoffs included), drop good passes so frequently this season. His yards per route is also the league's lowest among receivers with 25+ targets. Much of the problem is that Cooper plays on the outside this season and Foles only throws to the outside when throwing deep. Cooper is not fast enough to be an effective deep threat though, and Foles has been inaccurate when throwing deep this season. Foles mainly prefers to throw to the middle of the field, which doesn't bode well for Cooper. Leave him on the waiver wire until further notice.
