Limited rush attempts for Frank Gore

Greg Roman the offensive coordinator for the 49ers recently said, “I think we’re in good shape and feel confident, and I think Carlos Hyde is an ascending player... And we’ll have a chance to work with another running back pretty soon.†referencing Marcus Lattimore. Frank Gore's limited touches to this point is part of the 49ers plan to preserve him for the entire season. (CSN Bay Area)
Fantasy Impact:
With only 77 carries this season through five games, Frank Gore has the second-fewest rushing attempts thorugh five games in his career. Based on what the 49ers have implemented so far, Gore is no longer that workhorse back that was always trustworthy for 20-25 carries a game. He's a RB2 with RB1 upside if he gets a full workload. It may not be until later in the season before we see Gore's touches increase, if at all.
