Matthew Stafford heading into Week 8 severly shorthanded

by Dan Catterson | Rams Correspondent | Sun, Oct 26th 8:13am EDT

Detroit Lions' quarterback Matthew Stafford will be taking on the Atlanta Falcons in London, England, without several of his usual and reliable offense weapons. (detroitlions.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Despite the terrible Atlanta defense, Stafford is shaping up to be a tricky start once again. For the third straight game an ankle injury will keep Calvin Johnson out. Running back Reggie Bush, best used in the passing game, has been ruled inactive. While all three of Stafford's usual tight ends Joseph Fauria, Eric Ebron and Brandon Pettigrew will all miss Week 8 with various injuries as well. Fortunately for the Lions, Atlanta's defense has been missing most of the season, so they may still have enough with Golden Tate, Joique Bell and Theo Riddick to put points on the board in this one. The Lions head into a bye-week in Week 9. Giving Stafford's missing weapons two full weeks to heal up.
