Pierre Garcon frustrated with lack of targets

by Scott Ellinwood | Fri, Oct 31st 10:31am EDT

Redskins WR Pierre Garcon has been frustrated with a lack of targets in recent weeks and that frustration boiled over at halftime of Washington's Week 8 win over Dallas. In Washington's last five games, Garcon has been targeted only 24 times, compared to 31 targets in the first three weeks of the season. Following the game, HC Jay Gruden said, "I know the receivers were a little frustrated. I know Pierre was frustrated because there were so many things we felt we were leaving on the table. I ... put out some fires.” (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Garcon should benefit from the anticipated return of QB Robert Griffin III in Week 9. Griffin and Garcon have shown excellent chemistry over the past two seasons. In 2013, Garcon even broke a nearly 30-year old team record for receptions in a single season. Patience is prudent with Garcon. He deserves a roster spot, but not necessarily a start in Week 9. Owners should assess his targets after RG3 completes a game or two.
