DeMarco Murray silenced by the Cardinals

DeMarco Murray's 100 yard rushing streak ends as he runs for 79 yards against Arizona. (Arizona Cardinals)

Fantasy Impact:

Murray still is a strong option, as the Cardinals had not allowed a running back to have greater than 85 yards coming into the game, but Tony Romo's injury was troublesome for the Cowboys offense. The Cardinals have a very strong rush defense, but on short downs they loaded the box even moreso because there was no threat of Brandon Weeden on the play fake like there would have been with Tony Romo. Murray now has 1133 yards for the season, an impressive total that is now his career high for a season. The most telling statistic for Murray owners should be his carries; he averaged 27 carries per game coming into Week 8 but only has 19 carries in each game since, both Cowboys' losses. Murray's workload was never going to stay as high as it was in the first half of the season, but if he is going to be a sub-20 carry running back the rest of the year, he may not be the number one option for running back the remainder of the season. For full season fantasy leagues, obviously Murray is a must start player every week, but for daily fantasy, players like Matt Forte or Arian Foster may be more worth your big budget move.
