Eric Ebron to have 'instant impact' in Indianapolis

by Jody Smith | Sun, Jun 17th 10:42am EDT

After four somewhat disappointing seasons in Detroit, tight end Eric Ebron was targeted as a versatile player who could have an immediate role with the Colts. During OTAs and minicamp, the Colts lined Ebron up all over the field and head coach Frank Reich complimented Ebron's intelligence, saying "he’s like really a highly intelligent football player. And that’s really good because you want to use a guy with the versatility that he has and move him around and call all kinds of things with him." (Stephen Holder, IndyStar)

Fantasy Impact:

Last year, the Colts used '12' personnel 28-percent of the time, which was the second highest rate in the league. While this is a new offense, Indy's unproven receiving corps and backfield make it highly likely that the team will use both Ebron and Jack Doyle extensively. The health of QB Andrew Luck is paramount to the fantasy prospects of any Indianapolis player. Assuming Luck is good to go, Ebron is a middle-of-the-pack tight end who has a solid chance of ending the season as a top-10 player but will also have some frustrating performances. Consider him a risk/reward TE2.
