LeGarrette Blount gains 21 yards in preseason opener

LeGarrette Blount had five carries for 21 yards in the Lions 16-10 loss to the Raiders in their preseason opener on Friday night. Blount carried the ball on the first two plays during the Lions opening possession tallying five yards. After giving ways to Kerryon Johnson on the second series, Blount once again received the first two carries of the third Lions possession including ripping off a 13-yard run.

Fantasy Impact:

While Johnson will steal all the headlines with his performance, Blount was definitely in the mix, getting carries in the first and third possessions before being rested for the remainder of the game. Look for Blount to have a role in the offense and potentially as the short yardage back. He is currently the 52nd RB off the board according to ADP in PPR leagues. Blount could become a value if his ADP slips following the Johnson hype that is surely on the way.
