DeMarco Murray will challenge the Bears defense

by Chris Zolli | Wed, Dec 3rd 3:32pm EST

DeMarco Murray presents the biggest challenge for most teams, but the Bears' 11th ranked defense needs to be substantiated by stopping the league's top rusher. (Chicago Sun-Times)

Fantasy Impact:

The Bears are without leader Lance Briggs and may be without former Cowboys All-Pro Jay Ratliff so Murray will have his opportunities against the strong Bears rush defense. The Bears have only allowed 100 or more yards rushing four times this year, though twice were gashed for 235 and 153 respectively against the Packers and Patriots, so Murray needs to get going quickly to thwart the Bears pressure. Murray has played three Thursday night games in his career and has not been successful running the ball, only averaging 74 yards per game, but does average 40 receiving yards per game and has four touchdowns in these midweek games. Murray's value has plateaued a bit since his outstanding start, but he can make an impact against a Bears defense he shredded for 146 rushing yards last December.
