Gruden on Pierre Garcon: "He's a big part of our offense moving forward"

by Jonathan Ebanks | Thu, Dec 4th 12:48pm EST

After reviewing game film from Sunday's loss and seeing the very tough catches Garcon was asked to make on his limited targets. Head coach Jay Gruden affirmed that Garcon's lack or production needs to be addressed. Gruden said, "We've got four games left and we have to try to get him the ball out in space where he can run, because his whole dynamic is running with the ball in his hands after the catch." Fantasy Impact:

QB Colt McCoy has given the team an offensive spark, but Garcon didn't get spark to his own production. Out of the nine targets to Garcon (most of which were off-target passes), Garcon only hauled in three of those for a measly nine yards. The wideout has 49 catches this season and is on pace to finish with 65 catches, which isn't bad. When you consider that 65 catches is only 57 percent of the 113 catches he had last season for 1,346 yards, then it speak volumes to just how much Garcon's role in the offense has faded. The team will look to get him back on track against the Rams in Week 14.
