Matthew Stafford satisfies fantasy owners in Week 17 loss

by Dan Catterson | Rams Correspondent | Mon, Dec 29th 9:41am EST

Detroit Lions' quarterback did enough to help his fantasy owners in a Week 17 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Stafford completed only 20 of his 41 pass attempts for 217 yards, but he did manage to complete three of those passes for touchdowns. He also added 29 yards on four carries in the game. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

In reality, it wasn't a very good game for Stafford. However, daily gamers and fantasy owners still competing for a league title will take the three touchdowns any way you look at it. Regardless, this has to be seen as a disappointing year for anyone who draft Stafford hoping to get a top 5 fantasy season. Instead, Stafford finishes 15th amongst fantasy quarterbacks in standard league scoring with only 229.4 total fantasy points to his name. The games he was without Calvin Johnson no doubt hurt his production, but anything short of a top 10 season seems inexcusable. Hopefully Stafford will be able to put together a consistently better 2015 season.
