Tony Romo needs to fight demons in the playoffs

by Chris Zolli | Thu, Jan 1st 1:12pm EST

Although he led the Cowboys to a 4-0 December record with 12 TD and 1 INT, Romo is only 1-3 in the playoffs in his career and needs to get started early against the Lions. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

The Lions rank fifth against QB this season, so this will be a tough matchup for Romo, even considering that he has had multiple touchdowns in each of his four starts against the Lions in his career. He has also averaged 290 YPG against the Lions, completing 69.28% of his passes for 10 TD and 4 INT. The big issue in his appearances against the Lions, though, is that the Cowboys are only 1-3 in those games, with an average margin in the games of 3.5 points. Romo has only played two games against playoff teams this year, at Seattle in Week 6 and against Indianapolis in Week 16, and had 6 TD without an interception in those two games, while completing 75% of his passes for an average of 234 YPG. Romo's playoff history may make him a skeptical play in daily fantasy, but he is coming off of his best NFL season and could be a good play against a team he has had success against.
