Carson Palmer looking to return 'sooner rather than later'

by Brian Tesch | Mon, Jan 5th 1:16pm EST

In a story updating his progress from a torn ACL, Carson Palmer stated that he is optimistic that he will return "sooner rather than later." and also said he's probably one of the few players already excited for OTAs and minicamps. Palmer also said that he "absolutely" would be 100 percent at the start of the 2015 season. (ArizonaSports.com)

Fantasy Impact:

While Palmer paints a rosy picture of recovery, his optimism is actually somewhat well founded, as postoperative recovery from a torn ACL takes 6-9 months, putting him back on the field in May at best case, and in August at worst. It is encouraging to hear optimism out of Arizona, and coach Bruce Arinas even stated "(Palmer) takes great care of himself, so I don't see why he couldn't play for two or three more years." If Palmer recovers, he could be a very interesting pick in 2QB formats, and the success of Michael Floyd, John Brown, and possibly Larry Fitzgerald hinge on Palmer making a full and speedy recovery.
