Gary Kubiak hired as head coach; brings offensive coordinator Rick Dennison

Gary Kubiak, the Ravens offensive coordinator in 2014, is coming home to Denver after signing a four year contract on January 19th to be the Broncos head coach. After being drafted by the Broncos and playing nine years as a backup QB for John Elway, Kubiak was offensive coordinator and QB coach for the Denver Broncos for 11 years. Gary Kubiak then spent eight years in Houston as head coach and one year in Baltimore as the offensive coordinator. Kubiak was 61-64 in his tenure as head coach in Houston, winning two division championships. During this time, Gary Kubiak had David Carr and Matt Schaub at quarterback; yet Kubiak was able to maintain a record of just under .500 and a respectable passing game throughout his stay in Houston. Indeed, in 2009, Kubiak's offense (with Schaub) led the league in passing yards and was ranked in the top five for passing attempts and passing TDs. Rick Dennison and Gary Kubiak are both known for their play-action passing scheme. (Denver Post)

Fantasy Impact:

A lot is still up in the air for Demaryius Thomas' fantasy value in 2015. Thomas will remain a top tier WR if he signs again with the Denver Broncos and Peyton stays out of retirement. There is speculation, however, that Demaryius Thomas could follow former offensive coordinator Adam Gase. If Thomas remains in Denver but Peyton does not, Thomas' fantasy value could take a hit.
