Vernon Davis will be a 49er in 2015

49ers GM Trent Baalke confirmed at the NFL Combine that the 49ers had no plans on cutting veteran TE Vernon Davis, despite his disastrous 2014 and $7 million cap hit. Per Trent Baalke, "it was an off year." (CSN Bay Area)
Fantasy Impact:
Davis is coming off the worst season of his career in pretty much all aspects. He averaged only 17 yards per game on 26 total receptions, 2 of which were for touchdowns. He falls back into the morass of uninspiring TE options for your fantasy team. Given that the 49ers have stated they want to get back to basics and with an off-season to heal his various nicks and scrapes, it's likely that Davis role will increase, but it's too soon to say if he's a viable 2015 fantasy option.
