Tony Romo

Jerry Jones expects five more years from Tony Romo

by Chris Zolli | Mon, Feb 23rd 10:45am EST

Tony Romo will be 35 this year, but owner Jerry Jones is comfortable having Romo as his QB into his early 40s. Romo is coming off of the best season of his career, but has back injuries that have limited him in practices and caused him to miss a game this year. A positive fact for the long term for Romo is that he had his least passing attempts of his career in 2014. (Sports Illustrated)

Fantasy Impact:

Romo has been much maligned throughout his career, but he is second ranked in QB Rating in NFL history. He has thrown for 30 touchdowns in three of his past four seasons and has completed 65% of his passes in four of the past five seasons. He will still be a top-ten QB in 2015, but his long term efficiency has to be questioned. He has had injury issues and has had to scale back his game over the past three seasons, having 100 less passing attempts in three consecutive years, going from 648 pass attempts in 2012 to 435 in 2014. Keeping Romo a long term league may not be the best idea, but he should continue to thrive in Scott Linehan's offense.
