Lions may approach Calvin Johnson to restructure current deal

In an attempt to free up money to resign free agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who could command a contract somewhere in the $100 million range, the Lions may approach stud wide receiver about restructuring his current contract. (Detroitlions.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The Lions and All-Pro receiver Calvin Johnson agreed on a seven-year, $113 million deal before the 2012 season. Now entering the fourth year of that deal, Johnson will hold a cap hit of $20.55 million for 2015 and $24 million in 2016, when he’ll be 30 years old. It's not known whether or not Calvin would be open to restructuring, but it's worth monitoring as the free agent period begins to pick up steam. The Lions' defense, and Megatron's odds of every playing in a Super Bowl, would both take a tremendous hit if Suh walks.
