49ers set to release Steve Johnson

Per reports, the 49ers are set to release Stevie Johnson. He carries a $6 million cap hit and the move saves $5.5 million against the 2015 cap. (Dianna Marie Russini on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Johnson was supposed to be the 49ers' "Sherman Killer" as he had traditionally given their most vocal rival fits during Johnson's time in Buffalo. Unfortuately, Kaepernick and Johnson never got on the same page. Johnson has great moves, but questionable hands and focus. He should latch on somewhere else. This leaves the 49ers with a receiving corps of Anquan Boldin, Quinton Patton and Bruce Ellington. Expect the cap-strapped 49ers to use their first round pick on a WR.
