Bears exploring trade options for Brandon Marshall

by Dale Redman | Thu, Mar 5th 11:32am EST

Despite Chicago's refusal to comment on Brandon Marshall trade rumors, NFL sources say that the Bears are exploring their options and are even actively looking to trade the veteran WR. The Bears are reportedly looking to get a mid-round pick back in return. Marshall's 2015 base salary of $7.5 million will be fully guaranteed if he is on the roster on March 12, so many expect the WR to be traded or released by then. (Chicago Tribune)

Fantasy Impact:

Marshall was at the forefront of a chaotic locker room incident and other off-field embarrassments for the Bears organization. The new coaching staff and general manager Ryan Pace are looking to rebuild the team chemistry after the disastrous 2014 season. 2014 was also a disappointing and injury plagued season for Marshall. He had only 61 receptions for 721 yards, his lowest totals since 2006, his rookie year. If the Bears move on from Marshall, Alshon Jeffery will become the No. 1 WR with the team more than likely signing a cheaper veteran WR to replace Marshall.
