QB Mark Sanchez returning to Eagles

by Dan Dziubczynski | Mon, Mar 9th 8:06am EDT

The Eagles will apparently be bringing back QB Mark Sanchez, as he has inked a two year deal to stay in Philadelphia. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Though Sanchez played adequately last season when forced into a starter's role, most figured he'd go start for another team in 2015. Apparently, he 's okay being a well-paid backup QB, as he signed a two-year deal with $5.5 mil guaranteed, but a deal laden with incentives which can make the total value $16 mil. Nothing wrong with being a high-priced #2, especially for the Eagles, as that guy seems to always find himself on the field. Most still expect Nick Foles to be the Eagles starting QB in 2015. That is, unless Chip Kelly can swing a trade that nets him highly touted rookie QB Marcus Mariota. But either way, Sanchez looks to be somebody's backup.
