Reggie Bush visits Patriots on Friday

by John Aubin | Fri, Mar 13th 8:23pm EDT

According to ESPN's Field Yates, 30-year-old veteran Reggie Bush is in town visiting the team. The Patriots were viewed as a strong candidate to have interest in Bush based on the possibility of losing Vereen, their style of play on offense, and the background that assistant coaches Brian Daboll and Dave DeGuglielmo have with him from the 2011 season in Miami. Those thoughts were detailed in late February. Bush reportedly is considering the Patriots, Saints and 49ers as potential landing spots, although a return to New Orleans might not be in the cards after C.J. Spiller agreed to a deal there earlier on Friday. Bush's 94 receptions over the past two seasons reflect his solid work as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, which was an area in which Vereen shined for the Patriots in 2014. (ESPN Boston)

Fantasy Impact:

With the Patriots losing Shane Vereen to free agency they are in need of a third down back. Reggie Bush would more than fill the role and could be a potential upgrade. Bush comes with an injury risk but could potentially stay healthy if he is only used in Vereen's role while backs like Legarrette Blount and Jonas Gray do the pounding on early downs.
