Detroit Lions "hoping" to throw less next year

by Dan Catterson | Rams Correspondent | Fri, Mar 27th 1:29pm EDT

Detroit Lions' head coach Jim Caldwell expressed a desire to run a more balanced offense next season. "When I tell you that we're not going to throw the ball any more than we threw it (last year), that's a fact," Caldwell said. "If we do throw it more, that means we're behind, we're struggling, we're not winning, we're not a very good football team, plain and simple." (Detroit Free Press)

Fantasy Impact:

Stafford owners shouldn't worry. Stafford's career low 602 attempts last year were still good for the fifth most attempts in the league. Plus, the Lions have done nothing this off-season but lose key members of its defense. Something that will surely increase the odds of garbage time, come-from-behind drives for the Lions' offense.
