Coach Bowles wants to add a QB

The Jets are bracing for a QB competition between Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick but according to Jets head coach Todd Bowles they want to add another QB to compete. During a conference call with season-ticket holders Thursday, Bowles said: “Ryan is going to compete, as well as Geno is going to compete, and we hope to add somebody else to compete with them...”

Fantasy Impact:

This could be a clue that the Jets are targeting Oregon QB Marcus Mariota with the sixth pick. It could also be a smokescreen leading up to the draft. Either way, the eventual starting QB for the Jets has some nice pass catching options in Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall so there could be a little fantasy relevancy for the QB under center.
