Matt Forte skips voluntary workouts

by Dale Redman | Mon, Apr 13th 7:54pm EDT

Bears running back Matt Forte skipped the first day of the Bears' voluntary off-season workout program. Forte is entering his final year of his contract and is looking for a new deal from Chicago. (Chicago Tribune)

Fantasy Impact:

Forte will turn 30 by the end of the 2015 season and most teams do not like giving big multi-year contracts to what is considered to be an aging running back. Although, things get tricky for Chicago as Forte has been the most reliable offensive weapon they had last season as he set an NFL record with 102 receptions by a running back. Forte will have his workload cut down in 2015 as the Bears signed Jaquizz Rodgers to go along with Forte and Ka'Deem Carey in the backfield. With Forte still under contract for a year, the expectations are that the running back will report to mandatory training camp workouts as negotiations on a new deal continue.
