2nd year RB Carlos Hyde was held out of practice Thursday with an undisclosed leg injury. When asked about Hyde's absence, Jim Tomsula stated “(Hyde's) working through the leg. It’s nothing," Tomsula said. "We want you 100 percent. We’re doing this offseason thing and we’re doing things fast and we’re doing all those things, so we’re not going to push. It’s not the season, so we’re trying to treat that the right way.” (The San Jose Mercury News)

Fantasy Impact:

While is disconcerting that the 49ers have reverted to an NHL style disclosure system of injury reporting, and Hyde tweeted cryptically "Trust in God's timing" , this is most likely nothing. An injury scare could drive down the price on a player slated to be a rare three down contributor on an offense that still possesses two of the best run-blocking tackles in the NFL and a read option threat in Colin Kaepernick. Hyde is currently FantasyPros consensus #28 player and 13th ranked RB. If Hyde can keep Reggie Bush off the field, he figures to receive enough volume to finish as a low-end RB1.
