Despite drops, Newton's play instills confidence

Cam Newton completed 17-of-28 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. He also had one carry for 2 yards. (ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
In the dress rehearsal preseason game, Newton showed that he can still put fantasy points despite losing Kelvin Benjamin. Unfortunately, his receivers had 5 drops last night, (Cory Brown with four of those), but that's why it's preseason. Newton almost had a second touchdown, but the aforementioned Brown dropped it. He will likely play one short series next week at Pittsburgh, before shutting it down until the regular season.
