Eli Manning not too sharp against Jets

by Nick Ritrivi | Sun, Aug 30th 10:42am EDT

Eli Manning threw for 12-of-16 passes for 91 yards against the Jets last night in the Giants' third pre-season matchup. Manning had no touchdowns and threw a costly pick-6 at the end of the first half which the Jets' Antonio Cromartie returned for the 59-yard TD. The Giants' starters, including Manning, were then rested in the second half.

Fantasy Impact:

Manning looked good at times, but still wasn't that sharp. In addition to the Cromartie pick-6, Manning took a bad sack when Larry Donnell was wide open downfield; and he missed Odell Beckham Jr. on a long outside route after Beckham had Darrelle Revis beat down the sideline. Notwithstanding the somewhat mediocre pre-season thus far for Manning and the Giants offense, Manning should be a lower top-10 QB option in fantasy this season based on the numerous weapons the Giants have on offense, and the fact that the Giants will likely be playing from behind/involved in high scoring games due to defensive woes.
