Tre Mason (hamstring) questionable for regular season opener

Tre Mason, who suffered a mild hamstring strain during Saturday's preseason contest with the Colts, is considered questionable for the Rams' season opener against the Seahawks. (NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Mason will sit out the rest of the preseason in an effort to speed up his recovery process. Facing the Seahawks defense was already an unattractive proposition, but this injury makes the second year back an even riskier play for Week 1. Benny Cunningham and Isaiah Pead would likely split carries if Mason misses the game entirely. Neither are recommended for fantasy purposes. Todd Gurley will eventually take over starting duties for the Rams, but the team will likely play it extremely safe with the talented rookie, and Mason figures to get the bulk of the carries in the meantime if he is able to overcome this latest setback. He's still worth a later round pick.
