Ravens' defense looks sharp in final preseason contest

by Aaron Martinuzzi | Ravens Correspondent | Fri, Sep 4th 7:19pm EDT

The Baltimore Ravens defense was highly effective in a close loss to the Atlanta Falcons this Thursday. In addition to allowing only 211 yards of total offense, the Ravens sacked Falcons' quarterbacks 4 times and handed their ball carriers 10 TFLs. Kicker Justin Tucker was automatic as usual going 2-2 on FGs but the return game was uneven as Asa Jackson averaged 30.5 yards per punt return but added a fumble. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

After a disappointing couple of weeks the Ravens' defense finally put together an almost inspired performance. If this squad's backups can perform at such a high level Sunday to Sunday, then limiting yardage and sacking opposing QBs won't be any trouble at all for this defense. It looks unlikely that the Ravens will be generating very many special teams TDs, limiting this DST’s ceiling, but this remains a worthwhile fantasy unit. Owners will be able to count on the Ravens stopping the run and getting after QBs and, with an ADP of 225, this effective group can be had for a song.
